Eddie Jones handed major World Cup boost with star's latest injury update
If Eddie Jones is to have any chance of winning the World Cup later this year with Australia, he will need plenty of the Wallabies' big guns to return from injury.
Australia's injury list over the past nine months has been the stuff of legend, and Dave Rennie ultimately could not get the results he wanted with a depleted squad.
Fortunately for Jones, there have been positive signs recently from fly-half Quade Cooper, who has been out since August after rupturing his Achilles against Argentina. The 34-year-old faces a race to be fit in time for the World Cup later this year, but his latest post of social media from him will fill Wallabies fans with confidence. The Hanazono Kintetsu Liners No10 is "learning to run again," which sounds like slow progress, but six months is still a long time in terms of recovery, and there is still a lot of rugby to be played before then.
